Michael Fitz-Costa

Michael has a career spanning over 23-years, and achieved 11 different aircraft type ratings. Deeply involved in the design of aircraft training materials, Michael has worked extensively with several Asian Civil Aviation Authorities, delivering training to the highest of standards.

Michael started as a First Officer on the B737-200 with Britannia Airways (later flying the B767). Joined Cathay Pacific Airways in 1989, where he started on the Lockheed L1011, upgraded to the B747-400, before being promoted to Captain on the Airbus 330/340.

In 2004, Michael was part of a select team that started Hong Kong Express Airways. As the General Manager Flying, Michael was responsible for managing the Flight Operations Department. He qualified as a Type Rating Examiner and Test Pilot on the Embraer 170, and then collaborated with training providers to introduce the B737 NG fleet.

In 2008, Michael joined Oxford Aviation Academy as Head of Training and General Manager of the Hong Kong Training Centre, where he led the design of Training footprints and course material for the vast Asian market particularly China. A qualified A320 and B737 instructor and examiner, he currently flies a private corporate jet out of Hong Kong.
