ICE (Intelligent Communications Environment)

A combination of state of the art speech recognition technology and artificial intelligent systems created Intelligent Communications Environment (ICE).

ICE is a software system designed to be a single and portable device capable of teaching students proper aviation phraseology and procedures. This learning event is accomplished while immersing the student in a “live aviation communication environment”. Two distinct modes of training optimise student learning potential, student throughput and minimises overall training time.

ICE utilises speech recognition as its primary student interface. The speech system allows course administrators the capability of measuring the accuracy, quality and timeliness of the student responses and the correct phraseology of radio communications. The ICE Assessment Tool provides immediate feedback to the student and instructor. The assessment identifies and quantifies areas in need of further development. The ICE system has achieved 98% accuracy during system acceptance training.

The training system is both portable and flexible. It can be configured on a laptop, desktop and networked with multiple ICE applications via a server. Networking allows the instructor to provide classroom teaching/coaching to a large body of students, as well as the flexibility of interfacing with a student learning management system (LMS).

mEKP (Mobile Enterprise Knowledge Platform)

Mobile EKP (mEKP) is an end-user version of the Enterprise Knowledge Platform (EKP), a powerful and robust LMS – running independently from a USB flash drive*. No installation or Internet connection required.

mEKP enables users to review course materials, run courses, take exams and review documents, as well as review exam and training history information from any computer with a USB port at their convenience anywhere, anytime.

How does it work?

Portable LMS
mEKP is a much more powerful solution than offline players.
It is a portable e-learning environment that can support all courseware and exam detail delivery, as well as tracking user information and activity that can be found in the master EKP system. It supports single and multi-user environments.

Smart Synchronization
It can intelligently manage user information (AICC, SCORM, exam data) while offline and communicate with the master EKP system to synchronize user-specific information when access to the Internet or company intranet is available. All course and exam completion data, including dates, times and scores are uploaded to the main server when an Internet connection is available.

Pre-Load Content
Content can be pre-loaded into mEKP, such as:

  • exams
  • courses
  • news
  • reference materials
  • career development information
  • catalogs

Rock-solid Security
mEKP has the same security options and permissions settings of a master EKP system.
A user system may be configured for a range of security requirements, from dynamic creation of new users to master host authentication and verification of user identity before access is granted. Likewise, various USB encryption options are available to protect the device in event of theft or loss. Each mEKP is allocated a unique instance identifier by the master EKP system to better manage security and the integration of data from multiple sources.

As an added level of security, administrators can tag specific items in the EKP master as downloadable material into mEKP.

mEKP can also automatically remove materials (courses, exams, etc.) after they have been used offline and the results synchronized with the master EKP system.

Why does your organization need mEKP?
mEKP is designed to enable your organization to revolutionize training delivery to learners around the world with a truly portable LMS. Learners can take courses or exams whenever and wherever it is convenient, without the need to connect to the Internet.

If your learners are mostly out in the field or remote offices and have limited or restricted Internet connectivity, including:
  • Sales people
  • First responders
  • Public utilities field staff
  • Sailors and pilots
  • Cruise ship crew
  • Military personnel

mEKP will enable you to deliver compliance training, certification assessments, secure/private content and a lot more to these learners.

*Technically, mEKP can also run on any electronic flash memory data storage device with at least 1GB memory capacity, as well as any laptop computer.
